Promote Diversity and Inclusivity

Lotus is a social media platform focusing on addressing the lack of diversity in the design community and profession. Through Lotus, we hope to empower underrepresented groups and provide a space for them to showcase their work, connect with like-minded individuals, and access resources and opportunities that may not have been available to them otherwise.

The focus here is starting off the platform with a series of posts that share vital information on what the current industry looks like, the harmful effects, and what we can do to help. This allows us to open the conversation as creators to raise awareness on the importance of diversity in design.

Through our series of posts, we made legibility and accessibility a priority. We made sure that the text was readable but also created a balance where nothing felt too heavy. With color, we tested color accessibility and made sure that all color combinations used on our platform are easily distinguishable so individuals with visual impairments can still understand and engage with our content.
